Every year, the Dallas State Fair sets up in Fair Park (Dallas)! Featuring more than 100 performances daily by everyone from acrobats and Ronald McDonald to national headliners like Kyle Park, Cody Canada & The Departed, and Kool & The Gang. Since it takes place on Sept. 26th and runs until Oct. 19th, you and your family have plenty of time to check out the event!

You won’t want to miss the many fun and educational activities available for kids at the State Fair! Children can visit Big Tex’s Barnyard or the Children’s Medical Center Barnyard to have an up-close experience with animals. Families can also enjoy a lighted procession each night featuring floats, costumes, and tons of fun characters at the Starlight Parade. Attendees can also catch the Illumination Sensation water and laser show that features fireworks, video projections, dancing water, and music!

Admission to the fair gets you the opportunity to see some really unique things that you can’t find anywhere else. Watch jockeys race on the backs of 400lb ostriches at the ostrich races and watch your kids’ eyes light up with joy! Have you ever seen a butter sculpture? That’s right… butter. This year’s sculpture is titled Spread of Horses and features running mustangs. Attendees between 15 and 28 years old can also try out for American Idol at the Coliseaum Terrace on September 26 & 27 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
