New section of 130 Toll Road opened to the airport

Bettie Cross
Reporting
(CBS 42) AUSTIN An 11 and a-half mile stretch of State Highway 130 opened Thursday morning.
The portion begins at Hwy 290 and continues to Hwy 71. It is the third portion of SH 130 to open. This will allow many drivers to get to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport faster and to avoid I-35.
It also provides another alternative to the I-35 corridor between Georgetown and Austin, officials say.
“This gives people another way to get around Austin,” Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson Gaby Garcia said. “The trip to the airport will become more dependable.”
This stretch of the highway will be free until Nov. 1. It will continue to be free for TX Tag users until Dec. 1. At that point the 11 and a-half stretch will cost $1.50.
Now SH 130 stretches from Georgetown to Southeast Austin. The toll for that complete ride is $4.50.

What you see is what you get?

An article in a recent newspaper real estate section referred to buyers being very specific in what they want. It also said how the internet helps buyers find that perfect kitchen with the granite counters, stainless appliances, etc. I agree that the internet can be a great resource. However, don’t be too quick to fall in love with a property that looks good or write off one that doesn’t look very good in the pictures. I’ve seen some great homes with lousy pictures posted on the web and also have been very dissapointed in homes that looked great in the online pictures and virtual tour. In many cases a Realtor that is familiar with homes in the neighborhood you are looking at can give you some insight into what to actually expect when you look at the home in person.
