Known by its residents as the "Bluebonnet Capital," Ennis is home to the annual Bluebonnet Trails Festival showcasing the areas stunning wildlife. Begun in the 1930s and held in late April and early May when the bluebonnets are in full bloom, the festival is a popular regional event for eager photographers and nature lovers alike. Ennis also hosts the Ennis Polka Festival, founded in 1967 and held every May, bringing thousands of visitors to the community annually to celebrate its Czech heritage.
