The impetus, to develop a new real estate standard was rooted in the personal experience of one of our founders, David Rubin. Frustrated by the inefficiency of the traditional real estate model and unimpressed by the limited and inconsistent offerings of online brokerages, David saw an opportunity to radically improve the home buying and selling experience. Having directed his first Internet startup BITSource to a successful acquisition by Intraware, Inc. in October of 1999, David recognized that current technology was not being fully utilized in the real estate arena. Spurred by his vision, David partnered with Phil Williams and they left Intraware to embark on creating the most powerfully integrated real estate resource in the marketplace. In February 2000, HomeCity was founded.
