Bastdrop ISD

Bastrop Independent School District is based in Bastrop, Texas, east of Austin. The district serves the surrounding communities of Camp Swift, Circle D-KC Estates, and the Bastrop County portion of Mustang Ridge, as well. BISD’s superintendent for the 2013 – 2013 school year is Mr. Steve Murray
BISD implements several major strategies to fulfill the needs of their students. They strive to provide a diverse, meaningful and personal learning experience and environment. They hope to put in place a framework of independent and interdependent programs and Kids at Bastdrop ISDopportunities to encourage student involvement in extra and co-curricular activities. They strategically organize the district to provide instructional programs to prepare students for post-secondary readiness. They take a comprehensive approach to developing a network of support to ensure success after high school. They strive to promote age appropriate character development with emphasis on modeling common expectations of behavior. Lastly, they encourage diversity in their community to ensure the social and emotional well being of their students and families.

BISD consists of 12 schools, totaling 9,302 students.

 High Schools (grades 9-12) include Bastrop High School and Cedar Creek High School

 Middle Schools (grades 7-8) include Bastrop Middle School and Cedar Creek Middle School.

 Intermediate Schools (grades 5-6) include Bastrop Intermediate and Cedar Creek Intermediate School

 Elementary schools (K – 4) are as follows: Bluebonnet Elementary, Cedar Creek Elementary , Emile Elementary, Lost Pines Elementary, Mina Elementary, and Red Rock Elementary.
