The first of Cross Creek homes for sale arose in the late 1970s. However, 2001 and beyond saw the construction of most of them. The home styles vary in both elevations and exterior but are traditional in style. The newer homes follow contemporary Hill Country craftsmanship with large porches and low-pitched rooflines. Materials used are slate, brick, and stone for the exteriors. The interiors feature wood or large profile tile flooring, high ceilings, and arched doorways. Those with a second story come with a multi-use bonus loft for study space, media center or just a play area.

With such large lots, it is not surprising that many of the homes for sale in Cross Creek have used the space for extended living areas. Multi-tier decks, covered stone patios, and free form pools are very common within Cross Creek real estate. Legacy trees and native plants provide shade and pops of color along the streets. Lawns are kept well manicured, and some include ornamental grasses and climbing plants.

Cedar Park is part of the North Austin tech juggernaut along with Leander and Round Rock. Many techies, both single and family, like the Cross Creek community for its rural feel in an urban setting.
