Cedar Park

The City of Cedar Park - Parks & Recreation invited residents to bring their Christmas Trees for recycling to Cedar Park Rec Center on Saturday, January 4 from 9am until noon. Tree mulch will be used for the city landscaping. Cedar Park Rec Center 1435 Main Street. Receive a free seedling (while they last) for recycling your tree! Please remove all decorations, ornaments & Stands from your tree. You can also schedule a pickup with Boy Scout Troop 233 by going to this website!

Hill Country

PEC will recycle natural, undecorated Christmas trees into mulch that is donated to area parks and playgrounds. This annual conservation initiative is one more way the Co-op brings more power to the communities it serves. From Friday, Dec. 27, to Tuesday, Jan. 7, members can drop trees off during regular business hours at their offices in Bertram, Canyon Lake, Cedar Park, Junction, Kyle, Lake Travis, Liberty Hill, Manchaca, Marble Falls and Oak Hill.

Kyle

Beginning the week before Christmas and going through February 1, the City of Kyle Parks & Recreation Department has set up "drop-off" areas at the City’s Parks to drop off your natural Christmas Trees, dead trees, shrubs and bushes. Dumping of anything in city parks without expressed written permission is a crime. All decorations and lights, including tinsel, must be removed. No artificial trees. No nails or screws. No tree bases. The trees will be chipped and used in parks.

The drop-off points are:

STEEPLECHASE PARK - (location set up near basketball court)
WATERLEAF PARK - (location set up near baseball fields)
PLUM CREEK HOA PARK - (450 Haupt: location set up on Hartson side of park)

Lakeway

Trees can be dropped of at Public Works, 3303 Serene Hills. All trees must be cleaned of all decorations. For more information, contact the Solid Waste office at 512-314-7514.

Leander

Leander Parks and Recreation Department host the Christmas Tree Recycling Program annually the day after Christmas until mid January. They use these Live trees as mulch in the City Parks. It is a great way to reduce costs, reuse citizens trees, and recycle the products for other uses. This program is hosted at Robin Bledsoe Park located at 601 South Bagdad from 6am -10pm. All decorations, lights, and tree stands must be removed before dropping off in the recycling area. This program is for live trees only, no artificial trees.

Pflugerville

The City of Pflugerville will be recycling Christmas trees from the day after Christmas through Jan 11. Please remove all decorations from your tree and consider recycling it by bringing it to Wells Pointe Park. Christmas trees dropped off for recycling are mulched and residents are welcome to pick up mulch while supplies last in the Wells Point Park, 800 S. Heatherwilde parking lot. Trees left curbside on your trash or recycling pickup day are not recycled.

Round Rock

The City of Round Rock encourages residents to recycle their Christmas trees on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013 and Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at the Round Rock Brush Recycling Center located at 310 Deepwood Drive. Round Rock residents will get more than just a good feeling from recycling their Christmas trees, the City will give away a free small tree (while supplies last/one per vehicle) to residents who bring their Christmas trees for recycling on the two days mentioned above. Round Rock residents may bring their Christmas Trees to the Round Rock Brush Recycling Center for recycling during any regular operating day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday - Saturday. Before recycling your tree, please remove all decorations, nails, wires, ornaments, tree stands, lights, and tinsel. The trees will be shredded into a fine, usable mulch which is free to Round Rock residents for pickup at the recycling center.

Zilker Park

All residents can drop off their trees, decorations and stands removed, for recycling at Zilker Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the following dates: 1/4, 1/5, 1/11, 1/12. Trees collected at Zilker are turned into much which will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to Austin residents on Thursday, Jan. 23. Please be bring your own tools and storage containers for the loading and transporting the mulch.
