Old Settler's Music Festival 2014
Held outside of Austin in beautiful Dripping Springs, Old Settler's invites fans of Americana and roots music to come out to soak in the beauty of the country and to enjoy some friendly Texas charm. The festival, held this weekend starting Thursday, is for folks who would rather kick it than crowd surf, and is known for it’s laid back vibe and amazing music. Fourth Annual Texas Young Composers Competition and Concert
The Texas Young Composers will present the world premier of new orchestral works composed by Texas students age 18 and under at the Long Center on April 10. The Austin Symphony Orchestra will be performing the students' pieces inspiring the next generation of musical masters. It’s fairly difficult for young composers to have their composition played by a professional orchestra, and it is the Austin Symphony Orchestra’s competition and concert will encourage young Texas composers and nurture future masterpieces. KGSR's Unplugged at the Grove Concert Series
One of Austin's most iconic free music series is back for a packed schedule of some of Austin's best musicians, paired with $3.50 Ziegenbock drafts. Held at “the Grove” restaurant, and running April 10 - Sept 18, the event will feature music from acts like Quiet Company, Shakey Graves, Bob Schneider, Reckless Kelly, Joe King Carrasco, and Carolyn Wonderland. 2014 MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas
The MotoGP Grand Prix returns to Austin with the heart-pounding action of motorcycles racing at up to speeds of 200 mph! The races will be held this weekend April 11 - 13 with the qualifying races on Saturday, and the finals on Sunday. Along with the races, plenty of other fun events including a performance by singer-songwriter Bob Schneider will be held at the Circuit of the Americas. Take the family and check it out! SXSWCares Big Benefit
The SXSW Cares Fund is a fund created to benefit the victims of the tragedy that happened this past SXSW. The Big Benefit, organized by Austin Music People, Transmission Events and the Red River Cultural District, is a series of music showcases meant to raise money for the SXSWCares Fund through the power of live music.
