The 16th Annual Home & Garden Show will be at the Austin Convention Center January 10-12, 2014! Turn your home and garden dreams into reality! With thousands of square feet of exhibits you'll find the latest in products and services for everything from builders, contractors, materials, decks, pools, spas, entertainment systems, storage, plants, landscape displays/materials, kitchenware, and much more. The celebrity appearance will be Jeff Devlin - host of HGTV's "Spice Up My Kitchen" and DIY Network's "I Hate My Bath" and "Good, Better, Best." The Georgetown Fishing Derby was reschedule to be held Saturday, January 11, 7am to 10:30am at the Blue Hole Park. Anyone can come fish, but you must be registered in order to win prizes. Any trout caught wins a prize! Prizes are first come, first serve. If they have any prizes left at 10:30 AM, they will raffle them off at that time. You may continue to fish as long as you would like. Fishing permit is required for participants 17 & older. There is no pre-registration for this event. Registration will begin at 7 am the morning of January 11. Bait will be available for purchase at the event. Drinks will also be available for purchase. Zilker Faerie Homes & Gardens kicks off with the Faerie Tea Party this year on January 11 from 2:30 to 4pm at the Zilker Botanical Gardens. Registration is required! Go dressed in your faerie best for a tea party overlooking the garden. Create magical wands as you wander through the garden and plant bulbs in a faerie ring. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Austin presents Go Dance for Good on January 11th from 6pm to 7:30pm at Go Dance Studio located at 2525 W Anderson Lane in Austin. Join Go Dance in dancing for good as they host two swing lessons (beginner and intermediate levels) with donations at the door benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Austin. Come meet and learn about the organization and enjoy snacks and beverages along with the dance lessons. Beginners will learn the basic steps of swing and intermediate attendees will learn some new moves to add variety to their jitterbug. Stay after the lesson to mingle or try your new dance moves. A suggested donation of $10 - $15 per person goes directly to benefit RMHC. Bring a friend, but no partner is required, and no experience is needed for the beginner lesson.
