HomeCity Real Estate sent a team of volunteers to the Zilker Park on February 11th, 2015 to plant trees in support of Treefolks. Treefolks, established in 1989, empowers Central Texans to build stronger communities through planting and caring for trees. Over the years, Treefolks volunteers have planted 1 million trees in Central Texas at schools, parks, in medians, right of ways, community gardens, greenbelts, and on private lands in fire ravaged Bastrop County. They preserve the quality of life for Central Texans by cooling the air, cleaning precious water, sheltering us from the hot Texas sun, and keeping our city green!

After attending a short orientation, the team split into groups and volunteers planted over 1,000 trees in Zilker Park.  They dug

HomeCity realtors and staff worked together with Supreme Lending on Wednesday, October 8th, to help build a house for Austin Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity’s mission is anchored around their dedication to ending the cycle of poverty housing. They bring together volunteers to help build homes for families earning less than 60 percent of Median Family Income. The families then purchase the home from Austin Habitat and continue to pay an affordable, no profit, 30-year mortgage (which goes right back into the program).

After attending an orientation, the team of volunteers was allowed to work on the house. The team broke off into smaller groups that were trained to use individual tools and perform specialized tasks. They worked from 9am to 4pm

After attending a short orientation, the team of volunteers began choosing large dogs to walk, pet, and play with. The facilities are equipped with private caged play areas, grassy, shaded leash-walking areas, and small

HomeCity Real Estate sent two teams to spend some time volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House of Austin on June 5th and 9th, 2014.  The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas’s mission is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families.  One of the ways they do this is through the Ronald McDonald House. HomeCity supports Umlauf gardens

HomeCity Real Estate sent a team to spend the morning volunteering at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum, on March 7th, 2014.  Umlauf Gardens is an Austin treasure, offering patrons a shady garden of native Texas plants and a natural oasis near Barton Springs that features sculptures given to the city of Austin by noted American sculptor Charles Umlauf. Realtors and management pulled weeds, cleared brush, and clipped berries of an invasive species in order to help keep the gardens beautiful for all Austinites to enjoy.

Located just blocks from Downtown Austin, the Umlauf Sculpture Gardens are a local favorite. Originally, the gardens contained small ponds used by soldiers to practice flycasting during the late1930’s and 1940’s. After that, the

AUSTIN, TX - December 13, 2013 - HomeCity Real Estate took to the mall Friday to help adopt many of the unadopted Salvation Army Angels. After hearing on the radio that over 1,000 angels remained unadopted on the eve of the deadline for donations, the real estate agents and employees headed over to the nearest tree and adopted angels.

The Angel Tree is one of The Salvation Army's most prominent Christmas programs. Angel Tree was created in 1979 by The Salvation Army's Majors Charles and Shirley White when they worked in a Lynchburg, Virginia shopping mall to provide clothing and toys for children at Christmas time. The name came from the Whites writing the childrens' gift wishes on Hallmark cards with angels that were then placed on a Christmas tree at
