Live Tree Recycling
CURBSIDE PICKUP! During the first two full weeks in January, Christmas trees are collected curbside for residential homes with trash and recycling service. Residents are reminded to place the tree on the curb no later than 6 a.m. on your regular trash collection day and to remove all decorations, nails, stands, and plastic bags. After the trees are collected, they will be ground into wood mulch for garden use.
Christmas Tree Collection will be from January 6-17, 2014 on your regular trash day. After January 17, holiday trees will not be recycled, but will be collected as trash on your regular trash collection day.
DROP-OFF! Residents that do not have curbside recycling service, such as those living in townhouses, apartments, or condominiums, may also bring their Christmas trees to the Solid Waste Bureau during the Christmas tree collection season (first 2 weeks of January). Please call (703) 228-6570 to schedule an appointment Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. The Solid Waste Bureau is located at the Arlington Trades Center, 4300 29th St. S. Residents will need to show proof of residence in Arlington, such as a driver's license.
CURBSIDE PICKUP! Community Waste Disposal will collect Christmas trees curbside on your second collection day. In order for trees to be recyclable, they must be free of all ornaments, tinsel, bags, and plastic.
DROP-OFF! From Dec. 30 through Jan. 13, 2014, a roll-off container will be located at the “old” Azle Public Library at 609 Southeast Parkway (next door to city hall) so residents may dispose of their trees at any time. For additional information, contact CWD at 817-795-9300.
DROP-OFF! Tree drop off will be located at 3200 Meadow Park, Bedford from December 26 - Janurary 10.
DROP-OFF! Recycle your Christmas tree at your neighborhood Home Depot Store. Tree Recycling will be available December 26 to January 7. Remove all tinsel, ornaments, lights, nails and tree stands before dropping off your tree.

DROP-OFF! Don’t throw away your Christmas tree: Recycle it! The city uses the mulch throughout the year to maintain city parks and medians. Residents may bring their own bag to fill with mulch for their gardens or flowers. Limit one bag per person. The Parks Department may work with residents on additional quantities if available. Residents may dispose of LIVE Christmas trees only (with no ornaments or lights) at the designated area of Midway Park (300 W Midway Dr) from December 26 - January 4 from 10am to 1pm.
On January 4 the city will host a tree mulching demonstration and will give away bags of mulch and tree saplings to the public. Additionally, hotdogs and drinks will be available for free to anyone who participates in the recycling event. For more information call 817-685-1650.
DROP-OFF! The Flower Mound Parks and Recreation Division will offer free Christmas tree recycling from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 27 through Jan. 5 at Gerault Park, 1200 Gerault Road. The recycling program will be offered to residents only, and will not be available to commercial Christmas tree businesses. Trees cannot be flocked, and must have all the nails and decorations being removed as well. Lumber and trash will not be allowed. CURBSIDE PICKUP! If you live in Fort Worth, Christmas tree recycling is curbside on your regular garbage pickup day through the end of January. Trees cannot be longer than 8 feet so trim them if necessary.
CURBSIDE PICKUP! Frisco Public Works will do Christmas tree recycling for their residents when they meet these restrictions: Remove supports, electrical wiring, ornaments, nails and tinsel; Place tree at least three feet away from your trash and recycling carts on your regularly scheduled collection day; Trees must be 5 feet and/or 60 lbs. or smaller. If the tree is over 5 feet or 60 lbs., it must be cut into sections less than 5 feet or less than 60 lbs; Do not cover trees with a plastic bag, as this will prevent pick up; Flocked trees (trees with the white snow spray material) are not acceptable in this program. These flocked trees can be collected for a $10 charge by arranging pickup directly through C.W.D. at 972-392-9300.
DROP-OFF! Drop-offs can be done at the Custer Road Transfer Station between 8am and 4pm. Custer Road Transfer Station is located at 9901 Custer Road, Plano. For more information call 972-727-6341.
Grand Prairie will be offering free Christmas tree recycling from December 26th through January 10th at the Home Depot Parking lot at 3850 Carrier Parkway and 5280 State Highway 30 anytime or at the Grand Prairie Landfill at 1102 MacArthur Monday - Saturday 7:30am-4:30 pm. Please remove all ornaments, stands and plastic bags. Artificial trees or trees sprayed with artificial snow cannot be accepted for recycling. Acceptable trees will be recycled into mulch. Free mulch is available at the landfill to all Grand Prairie residents. Trees may also be left at curbside on your normal garbage collection day. However, these trees will not be recycled and will be collected as garbage. For more information, call 972-237-8061.
CURBSIDE PICKUP! On January 2nd, Grapevine will do Christmas Tree Curbside Recycling. They will pick up live, clean Christmas Trees (unflocked, no lights and/or tinsel).
DROP-OFF! Highland Village will be recycling Christmas trees at Unity Park (2200 Briarhill Blvd) in the Kids Kastle parking lot from December 26 to January 2. Please remove all decorations.
CURBSIDE PICKUP! Residents will have an opportunity to properly dispose of their fresh-cut Christmas trees for recycling during Irving’s annual Christmas Tree Roundup. Bare Christmas trees will be collected as part of the city’s weekly brush/bulky waste pickup through Jan. 9. For more information, call (972) 721-8059. DROP-OFF! Residents also may take Christmas trees to any of the following drop-off locations through Jan. 8:

- Hunter Ferrell Landfill, 220 W. Hunter Ferrell Road (drop off daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

The city's Christmas tree recycling program will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, through Friday, Jan. 10, 2014. The drop-off location is on the north end of the Multi-Use Arena parking lot at the Keller Sports Park, 112 Sports Parkway. No flocked trees will be allowed and all decorations, bags, tinsel, ornaments, lights, plastics, nails and stands must be removed from the trees to avoid potential injury to the workers and to ensure a clean, quality mulch. FREE mulch will be available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis at a later date to be announced. DROP-OFF! Keep Lewisville Beautiful and the City of Lewisville’s Parks and Leisure Services are sponsoring a Christmas Tree Recycling program. You can take your clean (no nails, wires, lights, ornaments, and tinsel) Christmas tree to the drop-off area at Lake Park at N. Mill street and Lake Park Road near the soccer fields. They are accepting trees from between now and Jan 17! Between December 31st and Jan 17th, bring a bag or bucket to the drop off site along with a shovel and pick up some FREE mulch for your yard, garden and flower beds, walkways, around your trees and shrubs, or use it as livestock bedding!
The City of North Richland Hills and Duncan Disposal/Republic Waste are offering a Christmas tree recycling program for residents starting December 26, 2013. DROP-OFF! Bare Christmas trees can be dropped off December 26 through January 9, 2014 at Green Valley Park at 7701 Smithfield Road, or at the parking lot at 4131 Rufe Snow Drive, just north of Glenview Drive. Please place trees in the dumpsters.
CURBSIDE PICKUP! Residents can place bare Christmas trees curbside for recycling by 7 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014. (Trees placed curbside on your normal garbage collection days will be put in the landfill and not recycled.)
In order for trees to be recycled they should be free of tinsel, ornaments, bags, plastic and stands. Mulch from the recycled trees will be available for residents to pick up at the two drop-off locations January 11 through 15, while supplies last. Please bring your own container and shovel to load the mulch.
Recycling your Christmas tree saves valuable landfill space. Real Christmas trees are biodegradable, which means they can be easily reused or recycled for mulch and other purposes. Drop off your bare tree (without decorations or a base) at Bicentennial Park at 450 West Southlake Boulevard. The city will turn the tree into wood chips. Drop-off will be December 17- January 4 and residents can pick up mulch on January 7! If you have questions, call (817) 748-8019.

At the Electronics Recycling Container located at 502 Shady Brook Dr Grapevine, TX 76051, you can recycle old or damaged Christmas lights.
Don’t forget, you can recycle clean, white Styrofoam at any Grapevine City recycling event or it may be taken to Foam Fabricators (900 Keller Pkwy, Ste. 101, Keller, TX 76248 817-379-6520).
Cardboard boxes may be broken down and placed out for curbside recycling in Grapevine. Large amounts of cardboard may be brought to the Single Stream Recycling Container also located at 502 Shady Brook Drive, Grapevine.
