The 32nd Annual North Texas Irish Festival, presented by the Southwest Celtic Music Association will be at Fair Park beginning Friday, February 28th through Sunday, March 2nd. This event will have the theme, Erin Go Bark!, celebrating the role of the “Celtic canines” in this beloved dog- and family-friendly festival. Dogs are welcome to join visitors to enjoy the music, culture, fun and food – just not the Guinness. The festival has added a pet pavilion in the Grand Building, dedicated to dogs and other friendly pets, housing the largest gathering of animal rescue groups in North Texas and more. Of course, the festival also features top Irish musicians and dancers from around the world and a number of cultural presentations on 13 different stages at Fair Park. There will also be cooking presentations, whiskey tastings, blacksmithing demonstrations, archery in a Celtic village, Gaelic football, horse displays, children's entertainment, a petting zoo, safety demonstrations, art activities and storytellers. Trinity River Levee Run and All Out Trinity will be Saturday, March 1st beginning at the west side of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in the Trinity Groves area. Events for the Trinity River Levee Run include a chip timed 5K and 10K, 1 mile Fun Run and the Trinity Sprint Invitational. The All Out Trinity Festival is a day-long event on, around and under the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. Starting immediately after the Trinity River Levee Run, there will be a variety of activities including yoga on the bridge, cycling, Zumba, disc golf, canoeing, soccer, and more! The 2014 International Women’s Day Dallas event will be at the Bath House Cultural Center (521 E Lawther Dr, Dallas) on Saturday, March 1st at 1pm! The annual Dallas event will feature a variety of activities, including local & international speakers, community groups & vendors and an assortment of food & entertainment from cultures around the world. PBR Dr Pepper Iron Cowboy V comes to the AT&T Stadium Saturday, March 1st at 7pm! Iron Cowboy V, the only single-elimination format event on the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series, will pit 24 of the PBR’s top riders against each other in eight-second duels as they ride the series’ best bulls for a winner’s purse of $50,000 and a shot at the Bad Boy Mowers Million Dollar Ride. This BFTS event pits the riders against each other in a head-to-head format with the objective of either achieving the highest-scored qualified ride in the matchup or staying on the bull the longest to advance. The 2014 Deep in the Heart Expo is going to be at South Side on Lamar (1409 S Lamar St, Dallas) Sunday, March 2nd beginning at 11am. This expo is a wedding event that showcases the best in local talent, artisanal goods, services and unconventional wedding ideas. The curated, boutique wedding expo is comprised of hand-selected, local businesses offering handcrafted good or products with a non-traditional presentation for wedding ideas, planning and composition.
