Texas Discovery Gardens will be hosting Butterfly Kisses at 6pm on Friday, February 14th. Butterfly Kisses is a Valentine’s Day event where guest get the opportunity to stroll through the Butterfly House as the sun sets and release lady bugs with their special someone. The event will also feature hors d’oeuvres with chocolate-covered insects and entomologist John Watts’ talking about bug love, or insect reproduction. The Dallas Arboretum presents Romance at the Arboretum at 6:30pm on Friday, February 14th. It is an elegant candlelight dinner at the historic DeGolyer Estate Mansion. The evening will include champagne, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a music performance from the Southern Methodist University’s woodwind quintet, and concluding with the candlelight dinner that includes roasted pheasant with Madeira sauce finished off with bittersweet chocolate torte. Proceeds from the dinner benefit the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden programs. Valet parking is included, and cocktail attire is requested. Space is limited. My Furry Valentine, presented by Downtown Dallas, Inc., The Petropolitan, and DogFit Dallas, will be at Main Street Garden (1902 Main Street, Dallas, TX) on Saturday, February 15th from 11am until 2pm. It will feature dog adoptions from Duck Team 6, Dallas Pets Alive, DFW Pug Rescue Club, Inc. and Chihuahua Rescue & Transport, Inc. - DFW Region, a costume contest with prizes, pet photos by Longhorn Photo Booth and more.
