2014 Deep Ellum Arts Festival
This free annual festival will be held on April 4 - 6 on Main Street, and will showcase hundreds of musical performances, works of art, and delicious food and drink from Dallas' most popular restaurants. Traditionally a playground for grown-ups, attendees can stroll through displays of cutting-edge decorative arts and admire, commission, and purchase the art of sculptors, muralists, jewelers, painters, and fine artists, some of whom will be creating pieces on the spot. 2014 Dallas International Film Festival
The 2014 Dallas International Film Festival will be held April 3 - 13 at various locations around Dallas. Featuring more than 170 films, panel discussions, filmmaker q&a’s, red carpets and parties, this festival is sure to please any film buff. With events like High School Day (April 4th), Family Day (April 5th), and a Latino Showcase (April 6th), the festival has something for everyone. 2014 NCAA March Madness Music Festival
As part of the NCAA Men's Final Four being played at AT&T Stadium, the NCAA will put on another March Madness Music Festival at Reunion Park this weekend featuring some of the biggest names in music. These concerts are free and open to the public. Headliners include Jason Aldean (Friday), Tim McGraw and The Killers (Saturday), and Fun and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (Sunday). There will also be live broadcasts of the two semi-final games from AT&T Stadium, as well as many other performers to be announced. Also, the Cone Zone, an Airstream trailer tricked out by the Conan show featuring video games, a mechanical bull, free Coke Zero and more, will be on hand all three days. Disney on Ice: Let's Celebrate
Disney on Ice: Let's Celebrate! features Mickey and Minnie Mouse as they celebrate a Very Merry Unbirthday Party with Alice and the Mad Hatter; Mardi Gras with Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen; a Royal Valentine's Day Ball with the Disney Princesses; a Hawaiian luau with Lilo & Stitch; a winter wonderland with Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear; a Halloween haunt with the Disney Villains and more in a magical medley of holidays, celebrations and festivals from around the globe. Northwestern Mutual Road to the Final Four 5k
Runners and walkers are invited to participate in the Northwestern Mutual Road to the Final Four 5k on Saturday, April 5th in Fair Park. The event benefits the Coaches vs. Cancer program, which is a collaborative effort between the American Cancer Society and National Association of Basketball Coaches. Proceeds from the April 5 event will support pediatric cancer research and other Society initiatives. Registration begins at 7:15 am, and the races starts at 8:30. Register now to make a difference!
2014 Big Texas Beer Fest
The Big Texas Beer Fest 2014 is North Texas’ third-annual 100% craft beer inspired festival. Taking place April 4th and 5th at the Fair Park Austomobile Building, the festival will focus heavily on the emerging North Texas craft beer scene and Texas craft beer as a whole, featuring more than 400 different beers. Last year’s festival featured approximately 90 breweries, and many more are expected this year! Among the treats offered will be exclusive kegs, rare beers and one offs, all for around $35!
