2nd Annual Burleson Polar Bear Plunge
Freeze away the past year and take the Plunge - start the New Year renewed .....if you have what it takes. Waves of participants will take the plunge into the ice cold water; for a good cause, bragging rights and the thrill of adrenaline. Join everyone at the Burleson Recreation Center (550 NW Summercrest Blvd) on December 31st at 8am untill noon. Registration includes t-shirt (w/ Early Registration), pancake brunch, and a goody bag. Mineo Athletics - 2014 Polar Bear Plunge
Mark your calendars! Jan 1, 2014 at 2pm Mineo Athletics will host the first ever Polar Bear Plunge at Sand Bass Point in Grapevine! Participants will receive swim caps then head down to the water to take on swims of 100, 200 or 300 meters! Participants can wear wetsuits, however, the brave of heart will take the plunge with just a swimsuit! Bonus points go to individuals or teams with swim costumes for the occasion, after all this only happens ONCE a year! After the swim, warm-up on shore with coffee, hot chocolate and snacks and wrap up in your official swim towel to commemorate your insanity in partaking in the event (must be purchased separately). Scott Sullivan Scholarship Fund - 2014 Polar Bear Plunge

The 1st Annual SS Polar Bear Plunge took place on New Years Day 2010 at the Meadow Hill Estates community pool in Frisco as a tribute to Scott Sullivan, who passed away suddenly on New Year’s Day 2009. Scott left behind a wife and three children and an abundance of family members and good friends.
