One of our favorite parts of starting a new year is all of the exciting new places to eat that are popping up all over the DFW area. From AF+B Fort Worth TXtraditional Asian fare to American wild game, there are many options for culinary adventure this year. We compiled a list of some of the restaurant openings that we're most excited about.

AF+B: Located in Fort Worth, this place has us really excited. Chef Jeff Harris left Bolsa to be the executive chef at AF+B, so everyone is expecting great things. This American Tavern will feature gourmet options such as blackened gulf red snapper, venison sausage, smoked duck breast, and chile-rubbed heritage pork chops. Brought to you by the folks who made CBD Provisions, this place opened it’s doors on January 10th. Be one of the first to check them out!

Knife: Chef John Tesar is opening a sister restaurant to his seafood restaurant Spoon with a steakhouse named Knife. Located in the Hotel Palomar in Dallas, Knife will feature artisanal meats, unusual cuts of meat, different techniques, whole roasted birds, bison and more! The restaurant will source from Texas ranchers, and serve normal, loved cuts of meat as well. Yum!

Ten: Chef Teiichi Sakurai is known throughout the DFW are for his delicious ramen. Slated to open in March of 2014, Ten will feature an authentic Japanese atmosphere and some of that famous ramen. Located in West Dallas/North Oak Cliff, Ten will only have enough room for 13 seats. Guests will be seated around a toppings bar, and will be able to choose what they’d like to add to their bowl. Sakurai keeps to the ideal that ramen should be street food, and his restaurant will reflect these values. Sounds like a fun dining experience!

The Blind Butcher: Located on Greenville Avenue in north east Dallas, the Blind Butcher is shaping up to be a new casual dining favorite. Brought to you by the owners of Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House, this bar/restaurant is set to have an extensive beer menu, an awesome outdoor patio, and a menu full of meats cured in-house. The Blind Butcher is slated to open in early 2014.

HopDoddy: This Austin favorite is opening a second DFW location in Uptown this April. Haven’t heard of it Hopdoddy? You should remedy that immediately. This place features all sorts of gourmet burgers including Texas Akaushi Beef burgers, Bison and Lamb burgers, sushi-grade tuna, and black bean burger choices. Stop by and enjoy one of the best burgers around with some of their craft beers, mixed drinks, and wine.
