The nation’s original and longest-running Latino film festival returns this summer. Presented by the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, San Antonio’s annual celebration of independent Latino cinema will take place at the historic Guadalupe Theater, featuring premiere screenings, master classes, receptions, after parties, and free community events. The festival will also include free Family Day screenings, a Youth Program showcasing San Antonio student filmmakers, and a Senior Screening for the area’s elderly film lovers.

The 26th Annual Balcones Heights Jazz Festival is proud to announce its all-female lineup for its summer concert series. The free festival located at Wonderland of the Americas Amphitheatre in Balcones Heights will feature eight renowned female jazz artists during the free 4-concert series, from July 12 through August 2nd. The line-up includes Jessy J, Lindsey Webster, Jeanette Harris, Elizabeth Mis, Ragan Whiteside, and Kayla Waters. You won’t won’t want to miss this fun-filled series!

The 8th Annual BIG Salsa Festival in Downtown San Antonio is going full swing at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter this year. Featuring the best artists in Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, and Zouk, the atmosphere is sure to be lively and fun. Frida Kahlo, a Mexican painter, continues to be admired by all age groups. To this day, many in the San Antonio and surrounding community continue to be mesmerized and inspired by her paintings, her poetry, and her fashion. To honor her spirit, Que Retro Arts and Curious Twins will host the 3rd Annual Frida Festival 2019. This free, family-friendly, indoor event is the perfect way to escape from the hot summer sun, while celebrating Mexican culture. Attendees can expect to experience a one of a kind community gathering, handmade artisan mercado, fashion, music, performances, & culinary traditions, over 90 artisan vendors offering one-of-kind art, and handmade goods, and a screening of the "Life and Times of Frida Kahlo."
