Dane's Body Shop presents F'nGive Benefit for Explore Austin
Dane's Body Shop is hosting donation based bootcamp that benefits the youth leadership, mentoring and adventure non-profit Explore Austin at Barton Springs park on Saturday, August 16th. The Fusion 'n Go (F'nGo) is an outdoor workout program that caters to South Austin, and the F'nGive is a free workout session taking place on the south lawn of Barton Springs. Donations of $10 and up will grant you access to the class, as well as admission into Barton Springs. Choose a workout at 8:15 am or 9:10 am — or both if you're up for a challenge. 2014 Classic Game Fest
Classic Game Fest is Austin’s biggest retro video game convention! Taking place on August 16-17 at the Parmer Events Center, CGF has become a summer tradition from retro gamers of all ages. MAX's Wine Dive presents Eat.Drink.Empower.
On Thursday, August 21st, MAX's Wine Dive is brings back its annual Eat.Drink.Empower event, which showcases the best of Austin's female chefs. This year's event will benefit SafePlace, a local, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing services for individuals and families suffering through incidents of domestic or sexual violence. Guests can enjoy a decadent 12-course menu with beverage pairings, all expertly curated and designed by the talented team of female chefs and bartenders. Austin Bat Fest 2014
An Austin favorite has always been watching the bats fly out from under the Congress Avenue bridge. 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats fly through the sky at dusk each night in the summertime. The 10th annual Austin Bat Fest celebrates this truly Austin experience with a festival on August 23rd, taking place across the entire bridge.
More than 75 local arts and crafts vendors will be on hand in addition to other bat-centric activities (bat costume contest, anyone?). Three stages of music includes headliners like Blue October, Saints of Valory, Del Castillo, Alpha Rev and plenty more. Tickets are only 10 dollars, and you can find more information here.
