Aransas Pass is situated on the shore of Redfish Bay, renowned for both fishing and shrimping.  The city limits also take in the surrounding islands, meaning Aransas Pass is more than 70% water. The Community Park and new Aquatic Park, located on Johnson Ave, is a centrally located gathering place for residents, featuring sports fields, picnic areas, a competition sized swimming pool and access to the Aransas Pass Nature Trail. The 5 acre Conn Brown Harbor Park is the gathering place for fishing enthusiasts, with boat ramps, T-head fishing piers and fishing tables. The waters off this park are famous for fantastic redfish, black drum, and flounder fishing.  The The annual “Shrimporee” held in June, celebrates the community’s history in the shrimping industry.
