Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District is based in Bedford, Texas. It serves the city of Bedford, most of the cities of Euless and Hurst, and parts of North Richland Hills, Colleyville, Fort Worth, and Arlington. The school district serves 21,450 students grades Pre-K – 12. HEB ISD is an extremely cutting edge district. Named by Education Resource Group in 08 – 09 as the top district in the state, HEB ISD offers “Edge” programs, which provide unique opportunities for students to develop skills beyond standard primary and secondary school curriculum. The district has been recognized for HEBISD kids learning asianachievements in academics and student performance, music education, public relations practices, operating efficiency, and teacher salaries. They have also received a rating of Recognized by the TEA.

The District is recognized across Texas and nationwide for it’s superior curriculum, low student-teacher ratios, and a singular focus on instructional spending. HEB ISD strives to provide a cultural environment that will prepare students for living in a global economy. They offer a variety of international programs including Elementary Spanish Immersion, junior high Hindi and Mandarin languages, and high school International Baccalaureate.

Both of HEB ISD’s high schools were awarded one of Newsweek’s list of the top 1,200 high schools in the country. The District was named the top in the state in 08’, 09’, 10’, and 11’ by the Education Resource Group (the awards are based on a combination of student performance and operating efficiency). In 2007 -2012 the American Music Conference named HEB ISD one of the “Best Communities for Music Education”.

Schools in HEB ISD

High Schools:

L.D. Bell High School (grades 10 – 12): Bell High was opened in 1957, and rapid growth and academic excellence have been part of their culture for forty years. They have earned state and national recognition in not only academics, but in the athletics, fine arts, and leadership fields. They were named a National Blue Ribbon School, and have nationally and state recognized Student Council, Band, Choir, and athletics programs. They strive to instill in students a global mindset, being an International Baccalaureate World School.

Trinity High School (grades 10 – 12): Trinity is a premier high school with a staff of 125 teachers, and serving around 2300 students. The school has been around for 40 years, and received numerous awards during this time. They have a TEA rating of Recognized, and many state football championships. Students can participate in 17 men’s and women’s sports, seven fine arts programs, and more than 40 clubs, organizations, and extracurriculars. Trinity High’s teachers strive to teach responsibility, pride, and determination to set themselves apart from other schools.

Students in the HEB ISD also have the options to attend the Technical Education Center or the KEYS Center for students with special needs.

Middle Schools:

Bedford Junior High (grades 7-9): Located in Bedford, TX, Bedford Junior High has a history of excellence in academics, athletics, and performing arts. Students can participate in many clubs and organizations, as well. The T.E.A. rated Bedford Recognized in 2011.

Central Junior High (grades 7-9): Central Junior High serves around 947 students, and is the only junior high in HEB ISD that offers Asian language glasses (Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, and Arabic) as part of the districts International Business Initiative. This middle school also feeds in to both Bell and Trinity High school, because of its central location. Central strives to provide an exemplary education to its students, and prepare them for the world ahead.

Euless Junior High (grades 7-9): Euless Junior High, located on the north side of Highway 183, prioritizes high achievement in a safe learning environment. They were awarded a Recognized rating by the T.E.A., and were named a T.E.A. “Mentor School”. EJH hopes to prepare students for life-long learning in a diverse world.

Hardwood Junior High (grades 7-9): Hardwood, located in North Bedford, has a student enrollment of about 1,000 students and a professional staff of 75. They strive to partner with parents and the community to create and support a positive, safe environment where all students learn and become responsible, respectful citizens. They were rated an Exemplary campus by the T.E.A. in 2010, and Recognized in 2011. They offer athletics, fine arts, and a multitude of clubs and organizations on campus.

Hurst Junior High (grades 7-9): Hurst serves 1100 students with a teaching staff of 59. Located in the southwest corner of Hurst, TX, Hurst Junior High has new facilities built in 200. They have received the National Blue Ribbon School award, and were rated Exemplary by the TEA in 2010, and Recognized in 2011. Students can participate in many athletics, fine arts, and extracurricular activities.
