One of the oldest communities in north central Texas, Lancaster is strategically located adjacent to the south sector of the Dallas city limits, only 15 minutes from downtown.

Lancaster offers that family style, hometown feel with all the big city conveniences just within arms reach. The city was nominated in 2006 by the National Civic League as an "All American City Finalist" (one of only 35 cities nationally recognized). Hometown hotspots like the Randlett House (a Victorian style two story house constructed in 1896) and the Rawlins Homestead (originally built in 1855) are a constant reminder of Lancaster's long history.

The Ghost Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force (a Texas based non profit organization dedicated to the preservation of historic aircraft) is based in Lancaster adding to the cities historical value.
