The homes for sale in Bellaire have an average square footage of about 1200, which is small by current standards, but they make up for their lack of size with style. Although they date back 60 years, many of the homes feature updated kitchens, baths, HVAC systems, and roofing. However, current owners of Bellaire real estate have preserved many of the original elements that make these homes so charming. Exposing structural elements like wooden beams, vaulted ceilings, and wide planked walls then refreshing them with a dark stain or whitewash brings them a more contemporary but still cottage feel. Updated flooring sets off the patina of an ornate shabby chic fireplace surround or highlights bead board in the bathroom.
The lots of the homes for sale in Bellaire are spacious, but, as was the custom at the time, were built with smaller front yards and expanded back ones to accommodate the large shade trees. There are many options for those with creative imaginations on repurposing these lovely vintage cottages to make them into a 21st century home.
