Melissa is a petite Texas town (with a population just pushing 1400 people) located seven miles northeast of McKinney in north central Collin County. Located on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, Melissa has an appeal for its genuine rural suburban flavor and it's down home sensibility. It's just far enough away from the big cities to provide that family style, small town comfort, but close enough for residents to enjoy all the metroplex's amenities if they see fit.
